Meet Brooke Haynes

Hi friends! My name's Brooke. I was born in Atlanta, GA back in 1998, then eventually life took me to Nashville, TN where I live now. I've always been a daydreamer & a bit of a weirdo. When I was a kid, I'd always stare into space for hours, write and perform songs in little concerts (with the stairs as my stage, of course) for my family, and genuinely run around my backyard thinking I was an earth fairy.

I've dreamt of being a rock star my whole life. I've had people tell me before to not give up on my dream or quit making music, and that always sounds a little funny to me because I can't even conceive of living a life where I stop making music. It's in my blood. It's my lifeforce, genuinely. The music I love has been a friend for me and has understood me deeply when I otherwise felt alone. I want nothing more than to make music that gives others the same sort of support and healing.

I'm influenced by a whole array of genres, artists, sounds. Nowadays, I'm calling my sound "spooky folk." It's a natural product forged from the blend of my love for the storytelling in 70s folk music, the urgency and emotion in female rock singers' like Stevie Nicks and Florence Welch's voices, and the experimental, psychedelic soundscapes of artists like Radiohead, MGMT, and Pink Floyd.

I've played at various venues in Nashville, including The Basement, The End, The East Room, The Cobra, and The Rusty Nail. I'm also the frontwoman in a band called The Red & the Red. I have an EP recorded and getting ready to be released this summer, and my band will be releasing an EP soon as well!

If you like my music, please join me on my journey! Fans truly make the music happen, and I can't do this without you. No matter where you find me, there will be whimsy, there will be laughter, there may be a little bit of crying, and there will be lots & lots of love.

(Fun fact: I also love to crochet and run a small crochet business! You can check out my website for that here.)
